If you are someone at all interested in finding some Chicago apartments that are in trendy neighborhoods full of young people and artists, then you should start familiarizing yourself with the city at once. Essentially, every single neighborhood has at least some Bohemian aspect to it; however, you will note that some of the neighborhoods are home to more artists or musicians than others.
One good place to start is the neighborhood of Pilsen. This is especially true if you are looking for some excellent rates on rental prices. You will find that Pilsen, in spite of its recent popularity, remains one of the cheapest places to live in all of Chicago. It is also quite conveniently located in close proximity to the University of Illinois, Chicago campus.
Or, if you would prefer to be directly off of a train line that goes straight downtown, you might want to look into apartments in either Wicker Park or Logan Square. Both of these neighborhoods have the Blue line running through major intersections. Therefore, if you have opted to leave your car at home when you moved to Chicago, both of these neighborhoods are great choices since they are so accessible by public transportation.
Another option might be to check out some apartments in Humboldt Park. Years ago, this neighborhood was known to be rather rough; however, it is now more gentrified than ever. You will see by checking out some of the new boutiques in the area that young people with money are definitely taking over, though some of the working class families have managed to stay and take pride in this part of town.
